Producer | DJ | Artist

WAZI (he/they) makes music from the place where grief, joy and healing refuse to be separated. As a producer, songwriter, and DJ rooted in Black Southern memory and shaped by the sounds of Chocolate City and PG County, MD, his work lives at the intersection of ritual, the dancefloor, liberation, the underground and the deeply personal. His stories are often told through introspection, vibrant textures, tension and sudden returns. Drawing from House, Amapiano, Hip Hop, Soul, and the full breadth of Black diasporic sound–WAZI creates music that holds multitudes and builds a sonic space where belonging is not conditional. Each record is an act of witnessing. An invitation. A pulse that moves between worlds without apology and arrives, always, at his humanity and aliveness.

Wazi is available to DJ events and provide music production services for podcasts, artists, commercials, TV, film, and other multimedia projects, offering expertise in:

  • Music Production & Composition

  • Songwriting

  • Scoring

Wazi is co-founder of Tender Bois Club, a music and creative production house, and the Development Director and producer at Comfrey Films.

We share the stories of queer and trans people of color and we collaborate on projects that align with our values for a better, more connected society.
